The DGYB Board of Directors will host the annual General Membership meeting on Thursday, May 2nd 7PM at The Perfect Swing 8251 Lemont Rd, Darien 60561. Chairman Justin Miller will preside and deliver state of the program remarks. Director Jim Sharwarko will deliver a financial recap of the past year and current financial state of the organization. Board members from all member leagues will be on hand to take questions from the membership. League President and Nominating Committee Chair Rob Rooney will officiate the election of officers. For 2024 both Vice-Chair and Treasurer are on the ballot.  Please mark your calendar to attend. DGYB consistently provides a fun and enjoyable recreational baseball experience for families in our community. Your feedback is vital to helping the organization better serve the participants.

Welcome to the 2024 Spring Season for Downers Grove Youth Baseball (DGYB). 

Currently there is a wait list for the 6 to 8-years-olds. To be added to the waitlist, please email jmiller.dgyb@gmail.com.

Now that teams have been chosen and practice has begun, you will need to contact DGYB at dgybinformation@gmail.com or jmiller.dgyb@gmail.com in order to complete the registration process. There may be a wait list for certain ages.

DGYB offers Baseball Leagues for children ages 6 through 16. The Leagues are divided among age groups specified below. More information about the Leagues can be found at the Leagues webpages at these links: 

Developmental (Ages 6-8)

Youth Leagues (Ages 9-12)

Babe Ruth League (Ages 13-16)  

PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRETY REGARDING AGES, REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND LATE FEES.

For Instructional (Ages 6-7), Rookie (Age 8), and Youth Leagues (Ages 9-12) the baseball age is based on the player's age as of August 31, 2024.  DGYB Babe Ruth Prep 13 includes all players who will be 13 as of August 31, 2024. For ages 14-16 Babe Ruth League follows the national organization age cutoff of April 30, 2024.

We expect registration for ages 6-8 to be full by February 28, 2024. After that date there may be a wait list. School-based team rosters for ages 6-8 will be filled based in registration date order. 

Don't delay registering. Teams for ages 9-12 will be drafted in mid-March. Players registering after teams are selected will be randomly assigned to teams.

Babe Ruth (Ages 13-16) teams will be drafted in early April. There may be a wait list for players who register after March 31.

Players who reside outside HS District 99 boundaries are charged an additional $50 Park District Fee.

TEAMS

Teams are selected in early March for ages 6-8, late March for ages 9-12, and early April for ages 13-16. Players/Parents will be notified on what team they are placed via email from the team manager.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

• Registration for Spring 2024 is to be completed on-line at www.dgyb.org.
• Please complete each section of the form.
• To support our mission, each player and parent/guardian must review and agree to the established Code of Conduct and Waiver provided in this registration form.
• In order to receive updates from your coach, league and event information, please check 'yes' in the box in the parent/guardian profile section. DGYB is respectful of your privacy and will not use your contact information to solicit information.
• The following online payments are accepted:  Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or online electronic transfers from your checking account.
• Don't delay registering. Players ages 6-8 who register after February 28 may be placed on a wait list.
• Teams for ages 9-12 will be drafted in mid-March. Players registering after teams are selected will be randomly assigned to teams.
• For ages 13-16 the teams will selected in early April and registration will be open at least through March 31st.

All new bats that bear the USABaseball licensing mark are permissible for play in the DGYB Youth Leagues (A, AA, AAA). Barrels may have a diameter of 2 1/4 inches to 2 5/8 inches.

Bats that were previously allowable in DGYB Youth Leagues with diameters limited to 2 1/4 inches will still be permissible in 2022.

Bat rules for Babe Ruth (Ages 13-16) allow bats marked with the USABaseball mark or "BBCOR .50" mark, limited to 2 5/8 barrel diameter.
