WELCOME TO OGRELAND. A land of an elite group of kids that play baseball and feed off of desire to win, becoming better players and having fun!

Welcome to your DGYB Babe Ruth baseball season. For prep 13 we are assigned a team name and we are the Ogres. This is a big step and a fun one with one step closer to a regulation 90 foot field. We will play on an 80 foot field. Here are some basics of the PREP 13 league I bet at this point you get the hint on what our team color is, ORANGE. Any parents that wish to help out with coaching, score keeping or anything else that you can think of please let me know!

The ogres will be managed by me, Jim Tremmel. I will be using Team Snap as our main communication tool. You will confirm and let us know if your player cannot make a game using the APP and emails that will be sent. You will get an invite in the next few days from Team Snap.

We will practice on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We will use Saturdays as practice game days against other DGYB Prep 13 teams. The times will change so it is fair to all the teams. Our first practice is Tuesday April 10th at 7pm. We will then practice Friday the 13th at 5:30pm. You will receive more info on practice dates and times over the next few days thru Team Snap.

If you ever have any questions, concerns feel free to email me or I can be reached on my cell at 331-262-1210.

The Prep 13 division is made up solely of 13yr olds. It serves as a great transition from the youth leagues to the larger fields and MLB rules of the Babe Ruth league. This division offers the following:

Metal cleats!

54 foot pitcher's mound

80 foot baselines

Continuous batting order

Unlimited substitutions

Cages on batting helmets are optional

Big Barrel bats are allowed just as long as the bat is BBCORE or marked USA BASEBALL(all new bats will match this

DGYB provides pants and socks and the Chicago White Sox provide the jersey and the hat!

All Prep 13 games are played at majestic Gilbert Park.

Team Rules that we will go over with the players on several occasions:

1) Youth baseball is meant to have fun.

2) Hustle is expected

3) RESPECT FOR COACHES, TEAMMATES, OPPOSING PLAYERS AND THEIR COACHES, ALONG WITH ALL FANS.

4) No arguing with the umpires and respect shown to them.

5) Setting goals and becoming a better baseball player.

6) Being responsible for their own equipment.

7) Players are to help with set up and closing of the fields. Players are also expected to help carry equipment.

8) Realizing that when another player makes a mistake we support them. Everyone will make an error, make an out at bat, we will focus on the positive. If you let it, baseball can drive you crazy. It is a game that you are in the hall of fame if you succeed 40% of the time, in the majors.
